Mowbray Park Multi culture001

I thought it fitting that the flower display was set to celebrate 100 years of Scouting, which started here in Sunderland
It has grown into the largest youth organization that promotes peace and friendship with out a care for creed, colour or ability.

Aims of the Scout Movement
The aim of the Association is to promote the development of young people in
achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals,
as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The first Scout Troop that Baden Powell inspected was the
Vaux Own Scout Troop  22nd February 1908
